Homework is very important, as it helps children to consolidate their learning from school and gives extra time to practise key skills. Regular reading, practising of spellings and of times tables is vital to develop the children’s confidence. Please also support your child with the written tasks set, which will be based on learning from that week.
For homework, we ask children to read their reading book regularly, at least three times, but ideally 5 times.
It is important for children to practice times tables regularly. The children will be given a times tables worksheet on Friday, due back on Monday. But, in addition to this, the children should be practising the times table of the week each night. Try quizzes, reciting, writing out in different ways. There are plenty of games/songs and activities online to help with this. Pupils can use their TT Rockstars account to support them too.
